I was not informed 2016

I was not informed was a collaborative project with MJ Flamiano and Tace Kelly presented at C3 Gallery. It involved a series of performances, text and video developed from various discussions and exercises that examined colonialism in our cultural and educational institutions as well as access to them.

The performance of the same title, had two separate language groups - Japanese and Mandarin -  of mixed native and non-native speakers, translate a text called Please lower your voice which was written by MJ in response to a casual racist slur in the library. This performance considered the dominance of the english language in our public institutions.

Just Visiting took place on the Abbotsford Convent open day where the three artists took turns in performing as the Labourer, the Professional and the Volunteer. Through this performance, we were embodying the many roles an artist has to perform within their life and career.

Translators for I was not informed  performance:

Japanese group - Kayo Okamoto, Aki Horibe, Yayoi Urano and Aidan Kirkbright.

Chinese Mandarin group - Michelle Pan, Li Ye and Baz Thomas.
